  • Reason: AMSA banned the Panama-flagged bulk carrier AC Sesoda for deliberately underpaying its crew by more than AUD $118,000, which the ship’s operator attempted to conceal from authorities.

  • Type: Livestock carrier
  • Period of ban: 7 January 2021 to 7 January 2023
  • Reason: AMSA has issued a Direction to the Marshall Islands-flagged livestock ship Barkly Pearl for 24 months due to failure to ensure that the ship is operated and maintained so as to not pose a significant threat to the seafarers onboard and the marine environment of Australia.

  • Period of ban: 29 April 2021 to 29 Oct 2022
  • Reason: AMSA has issued a Direction notice to refuse access to Panama-flagged bulk carrier Movers 3 for 18 months due to systemic maintenance and MLC issues identified during a PSC inspection.

  • Type: Bulk carrier
  • Period of ban: 28 May 2021 to 28 May 2024
  • Reason: AMSA has issued a direction notice to refuse access to the Panama flagged bulk carrier Maryam IMO 9272864 for 36 months due to systemic failures in relation to ensuring seafarer welfare and maintenance onboard.

 

India

  • Period of ban: 11 Nov 2020 to 11 Nov 2021
  • Reason: Wrong declaration of ports and concealment of navigational records.

–>Ship: MT TULIP

  • Type: Oil / Chemical tanker
  • Period of ban: 17 Dec 2020 to further notice
  • Reason: 1. The Owners have violated the orders issued by Directorate for a single direct ballast voyage to repair port and continued to trade with serious deficiencies even carrying cargo onboard. 2. The Owners have changed the flag of the vessel without any intimation to the Registrar in lieu of complying with the order issued by the Directorate.

Myanmar

  • Reason: As reported by the Authority of Myanmar, the ship sailed out illegally without permission from the port Authority and switched off AIS and also violated Myanmar national laws and other guidelines.

  • Reason: Sailing under fake certification.
